The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 is an exam that is conducted to gain admission to MBA and management program colleges in India. CAT is one of the most difficult as well as competitive exams in India. CAT Exams are organized by the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs). CAT EXams are usually scheduled in November, and registration for the exam starts a few months before the examination is scheduled. The test is computer-based, and each section has a particular time limit. CAT EXAM 2024 Age Limit 

IIMs have not set any specific age limit to appear for the CAT Exam 2024. Candidates of any age appear in the exam as long as they meet the basic eligibility criteria. Any individual who wants to appear in the CAT Exam 2024 must fit into the eligibility criteria set by IIMs. 

CAT EXAM Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who want to appear in the CAT Exam must fulfill the eligibility criteria required and et by IIMs. Any student who fails to fulfill the criteria set by IIMs will not be allowed to appear in the CAT Exam 2024. Here is the list of criteria mentioned by IIMs to appear in the CAT Exam 2024: 

• Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or institution. 
• Candidates belonging to the general category must have completed their Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% marks. 
• Candidates who belong to reserved categories (SC, ST, and PwD) must have completed their Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university with at least 45% marks.
• Candidates who are in the final year of their bachelor’s degree can also apply, but they must submit proof of their degree completion later on as asked.
• Candidates belonging to any age group can appear in the exam no age limit is set for CAT Exam 2024.
• Submission of work experience is not necessary, but candidates who want to share their work experience can submit it as it can work as an advantage for admission to MBA colleges as many colleges ask for work experience. 

CAT EXAM 2024 Registration Process

Here is step by step process which will help you understand the registration process of CAT Exam 2024 easily. 

Candidates need to first visit the official website of CAT, which will be supported by IIM.

Click on the “Register” button to create your new account.

Then candidates need to enter some basic details like name, email ID, and phone number.

Once you enter these details you will get a special username id and password on your mail. 

Enter the website using these login credentials.

Fill out the form correctly, Candidates must enter all the details regarding their educational background, identity proof, address, etc.

Now upload the documents and photos as prescribed by IIMs. 

Before submitting the form thoroughly check the details entered by you. After submission of the form, any correction will not be done. 

When you submit the form the fee payment option will appear.

Candidates can pay fees using credit cards, debit cards, UPI, net banking, etc.

CAT EXAM Fees

IIMs for the CAT Exam 2024 have fees according to category. CAT EXAM 2024 fee for candidates belonging to the general category is Rs 2500/-. The fee for the candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD is Rs 1250/-. Candidates can pay fees using UPI, Net Banking, Credit Card, and Debit card. After the submission of the fee, you will get the confirmation mail and enrollment details in your email. 

CAT EXAM Syllabus for MBA 

The CAT EXAM syllabus consists of 3 categories; each category has its marking scheme and time limit. Each section requires a good mix of problem-solving skills and conceptual understanding to get good marks or percentile in CAT 2024. 1- Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR)

Data interpretation and logical reasoning is one of the most important sections of CAT Exam 2024 as this part mainly focuses on checking candidates’ ability to think critically, and decision-making power based on the data provided to them. Here is the list of important topics for the Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR) syllabus 2024: 

• Analysis of data from tables

2. Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC)

Another section mentioned in the CAT EXAM 2024 syllabus includes VARC as an important part. VARC is included in the syllabus to check the candidate’s ability to communicate, understand, and analyze in English. 3. Quantitative Ability (QA)

Quantitative ability is included in the syllabus of CAT 2024 to check and evaluate candidates’ problem-solving, Analytical thinking, and Mathematical skills. Quataitve ability syllabus includes topics which are mentioned below: 

• Arithmetic: Percentages, profit and loss, time, speed, distance, and ratio.
• Algebra: Equations, functions, and progressions.
• Geometry: Lines, angles, triangles, circles, and mensuration.
• Number Systems: Properties of numbers, divisibility, and remainders.
• Modern Math: Permutations, combinations, probability, and set theory.

CAT EXAM 2024 Exam Pattern

CAT Exams pattern 2024 will be conducted in CBT ( Computer Based Test) format. Test centers will be allotted to the candidates appearing in the CAT Exam 2024. Here are some important details regarding CAT Exam 2024: 

• The question paper will be in MCQ and Non – MCQ Format.
• There will be a total of 66 questions which will be divided into 3 sections.
• Each section will have a different marking scheme and time limit, students can choose any section to attempt first at their convenience.
• For every correct answer, the candidates will receive 3 marks and for every wrong answer, 1 marks will be deducted. 
• There is no negative marking for Non – MCQ questions and also there is no mark deduction for skipping a question.
• Candidates must score a minimum of 198 marks in the exam.

Admit cards will be released 1 week before CET EXAM 2024. Admit cards are one of the most important documents that need to be taken at the exam center. Each candidate must carry their admit card with them along with the admit card candidates are requested to take identity proof and a passport-size photo with them.

The CAT Exam 2024 result is expected to be declared in January 2025. After the declaration of results, candidates will be able to check their results from the official website of CAT.  To check the result candidates must enter the username ID and password provided to them while registering, to log in to the website. After login candidates will be able to see their overall score card and scores will also be mentioned section-wise. Candidates will also be able to see the percentile on the scorecard. Candidates can download the scorecard also from the website. 

CAT EXAM 2024 Selection Process

The selection process of CAT 2024 consists of various stages, each college and institution has various criteria for selection. The selection process for CAT 2024 consists of these steps: 

• Marks obtained by candidates are checked.
• If candidates fit in the marks requirement then they are short-listed for further process.
• If candidates are shortlisted they will be called for group discussion and personal interview. 

 Documents Required during the CAT 2024 Counseling 

Counseling is one of the most important processes during admission. Candidates must carry these documents with them while going for the counseling round. 

• Candidates must carry a CAT Admit Card.
• Candidates should also carry their CAT scorecard. 
• Candidates must carry their 10th and 12th mark sheets them.
• Candidates must carry their graduation mark sheet.
• Candidates are requested to also carry their identity proof.

The admission process of CAT includes various processes after the completion of counseling rounds candidates who are been short-listed will receive an offer letter from the college or institution. After receiving the offer letter candidates must follow the instructions for admission and submit the fee and requirements on time.
